Best online casino: what can be compared when only one is legal

A hundred brands, three ways of reading

The table on this page covers ten operators. It did not arise from nothing. Its basis is a file containing a hundred brands that in any way operate on the Polish market without a licence. From that file ten were selected, guided by the availability of documents and the clarity of entries.

We read the documents of each brand in three ways. For 37 of the hundred, the terms and related acts were opened live, directly on the operator's site. For 41 we used an archived copy, because the site was not available at the time of checking. The remaining 22 could not be reached in any way: neither live nor in the archive. That is an important number, because it means that for more than one fifth of the market we have no text that could be called terms.

For this reason our table is not an assessment of quality. It is a criterion of readability. We chose ten brands whose documents could be read and compared. We do not claim they are the best in any sense. We claim only that their texts can be checked and confronted with what the operator promises on the homepage.

The method itself is described in more detail on the page about how we read documents. For each of the ten brands we also provide a link to its separate review, where individual entries are visible. This allows the reader to verify our reading.

Column one: licence

The first column of the table concerns the permit. For six of the ten brands these are numbers from the Curacao Gaming Authority: Vave OGL/2024/1676/0905, Bitcasino.io OGL/2023/111/0069, Metaspins OGL/2024/1063/0437, Shuffle OGL/2024/1337/0628, Wild.io OGL/2024/210/0198 and Cloudbet OGL/2024/328/0599. All have the status "Active". Three further ones come from the Anjouan Gaming Board register: DuckDice ALSI-202509013-FI1, Empire.io ALSI-132405042-FI3 and Rainbet ALSI-152406029-FI2, all valid.

Bitcasino.io and the others from Curacao have numbers that can be checked in the public register. The register confirms that the entity to which the number was granted appears as the holder of a permit. It does not confirm, however, that the operator complies with Polish law or that it is honest towards the Polish player.

The second part of the Curacao number is the year of entry. Six of the seven references in this table that concern Curacao contain the year 2024, one 2023. That is the year in which the entry was created, not the year in which the site began operations. An operator may have been active since 2015, and its licence may come from 2024.

The tenth brand, Bitsler, does not give any licence number. Its text says that Oyine N.V. operates on the basis of a certificate of operation under transitional arrangements, while the application OGL/2024/930/0387 awaits consideration by the Curacao Gaming Control Board. That number is an application number, not a licence. It must not be read as a permit. If anyone presents it that way, they make an error.

Column two: identity before withdrawal

The second column concerns the rule of identification before withdrawal. Operators apply various thresholds above which the player must confirm identity. These thresholds are sometimes given with a clause number or without.

In our ten, exactly two brands give the amount together with a clause number. Bitcasino.io indicates 2 500 EUR in clause 6.6. Empire.io indicates 2 000 USDT in clause 5.4. Five brands give a clause number but no amount: Vave 8.7, Metaspins 9.7, Rainbet 20.1, Cloudbet 18.1.1, and Bitsler refers to clauses 4.3, 4.4 and 8.22, while DuckDice refers to section 2. Wild.io and Shuffle give neither an amount nor a clause number.

What does a clause number give the reader? It allows finding in the terms the exact place where the operator describes the obligation. The reader can check whether there are additional conditions there that our table does not reveal. A clause number is evidence that our entry is not invented.

In the whole file of a hundred brands, only 5 give an amount for this check. Another 21 give a clause number without an amount. That means 26 of 100 brands offer any reference. The remaining 74 give no point of anchorage at all. In our ten the proportion is higher, because we chose brands that publish something, but the scale still shows how rare a legible record is.

Column three: coins

The third column concerns the cryptocurrencies that the operator accepts. Some brands give their number, some list names without a total, and some give nothing.

In our ten, six positions have an explicit number. Vave gives 90 coins, Cloudbet 40, Shuffle 20, Bitcasino.io 12, Wild.io 12, DuckDice 10. These are lists that can be counted.

Metaspins gives no total. Its nine names come from clause 14.12, that is a list of minimum thresholds for bonuses, not a list of deposits. That is a different function of the document, but the only one we have.

Rainbet lists nine names and adds "and stablecoins, including", which opens a list. We do not know exactly how many currencies the operator accepts, because its own text does not close the catalogue.

Empire.io and Bitsler have no list that we could read. Here one must distinguish an operator that does not publish a total from an operator whose list we have never opened. In the case of Empire.io and Bitsler, the text is unreachable, so we do not know whether the list exists. That is a different situation from Metaspins, where the document exists but does not contain the requested information.

What the table does not contain

Our table deliberately omits three properties that can be found in other rankings: withdrawal speed, bonus amount and a point score. Each has a reason.

Withdrawal speed is not in it, because no document measures it. True, some terms give time limits. In our ten, Vave gives up to 3 days in clause 8.1, Bitcasino.io up to 3 business days in clause 6.1 for ordinary currencies, but for cryptocurrencies it gives no time. Rainbet on the homepage gives 5 to 15 minutes, but in section 8 there is nothing. Bitsler in clause 8.15 says only that the time depends on the coin and the network load, while its help centre calls withdrawals instant; both texts are its own. These are declarations, not measured facts. Placing them in a table would suggest that we can compare real speed, and that we cannot.

The bonus amount is not in the table, because what the operator promises in a promotion is not a term of the contract. Bonuses have dozens of conditions concerning wagering, qualifying games and time limits. Setting them out in numbers without those conditions would mislead.

A point score is absent, because we have no formula. A score without a formula cannot be checked or challenged. The reader sees only a digit, but does not know what it means. That contradicts our goal, which is the possibility of reproducing each column. Instead of a score we give data from which the reader can draw their own conclusion.

An empty cell and one error

In the table empty cells occur. An empty cell has only one meaning: we did not find the information in the documents or we could not read them. It does not mean a lack of a limit or a lack of verification.

The most frequent error that turns a comparative table into an advertisement is reading an empty field as "no limit" or "no verification". An operator that does not publish an identity threshold does not necessarily lack one. It may hide it in an internal policy. An operator that does not give the number of cryptocurrencies may accept many or few. An empty cell is a lack of information, not information about a lack.

This error occurs routinely in rankings that promise the "best online casino" and want to show that everything is possible. Our table tries to avoid it. If we do not know something, we write that we do not know it.

Therefore every empty cell is explained in a footnote under the table. The reader always knows whether the emptiness results from the document not containing the information or from the document not being openable.

What you can check in a quarter of an hour

We encourage independent verification. In a quarter of an hour you can check the most important points. First, open the operator's terms and find the licence number. Compare it with the entry in the Curacao or Anjouan register. Second, find the clause about verification before withdrawal. Is there an amount? Is there a number? Third, check the list of cryptocurrencies. Is it closed or open? Fourth, look for a withdrawal limit, for example Wild.io gives 100 000 USD weekly in clause 9.6; only 14 of the hundred brands give any limit.

You can also check how much time the operator allows for verification. Rainbet gives the player 72 hours to send documents and itself up to 7 business days to review them, which follows from clause 20.1. That is a concrete that can be compared with another.

Finally, one reservation. The restricted countries clause of each operator has not been confirmed by us individually. Before you deposit money, read the operator's terms yourself. Our table is a starting point, not an oracle.
